Free & Low-Cost STI Testing & Treatment
There are many misconceptions about STIs, like they aren’t a big deal, or it’s easy to tell if someone has one. Most who are infected with STIs experience no symptoms, so the only way to know for sure whether you have an STI is to get tested.
Why should I get tested?
STIs can cause long-term consequences down the line like infertility, as well as the risk of passing them on to others. Getting tested is the only certain way to know whether you have been infected. If you have any of the STIs we treat, we can provide treatment at no cost.
How do I know if I need to get tested?
If you are sexually active, meaning if you have participated in oral, anal, or vaginal sex, you are at risk for contracting an STI. Some STIs are spread skin to skin so if you have had contact with someone’s genital area, you need to be tested. You are at an even higher risk if you have had multiple partners or if your current partner has had multiple partners or if you are young.
If I’m pregnant, do I need to get tested?
An untreated STI can cause harm to both you and your unexpected pregnancy. If you are pregnant, you have even more reason to get tested no matter what choice you make concerning that pregnancy.
